AI Router

AI without the setup; or bring your own provider for full control.

The AI Router gives you two ways to use AI in your workflows. You can pick whichever fits how you work, and you can switch at any time without changing your workflow.

Two ways to use AI

MegaWrench Router is the easiest option. AI just works, with no keys, no accounts, and no extra bills. Bring Your Own Provider (BYOP) connects your own AI account for full control.

MegaWrench Router

This is the easy path. You add an AI node to your workflow, choose MegaWrench Router, and build. There's nothing else to set up. You don't create or store an API key, you don't sign up for a separate provider account, and you don't have to research models or worry about which one to pick.

Your usage is simply added to your MegaWrench bill, so there's no separate billing to configure either. You never need to know which model answered a request. It may change over time as we tune things; your workflow stays exactly the same.

AI without the setup

MegaWrench Router is built for speed and convenience. We've worked hard on the routing itself, so your AI runs fast without you having to set anything up. There are no API keys to manage and no provider accounts to maintain. Your usage simply appears on your MegaWrench bill.

Bring Your Own Provider

This path is for people who already have an AI setup, or who want complete control over their AI. You connect a provider like OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or OpenRouter using your own API key, then pick your provider and your model.

You configure everything the way you want it. Your model, your settings, your limits. Every request goes directly through the account you connected, and you pay that provider directly.

Why bring your own provider

There are a few common reasons you might prefer this. Maybe you already have an AI account and don't want another middleman. Maybe you need a specific model that isn't offered on the MegaWrench Router, like using Claude for moderation because you prefer its responses. Maybe you negotiated your own pricing and want all of your AI usage billed through that contract. Or maybe you just want full control over models, settings, and data policies.

Whatever the reason, BYOP gives you direct control over your AI configuration and your billing.

Switching never changes your workflow

This is the important part. Whether you use MegaWrench Router or your own provider, your workflow stays identical. The AI node is the only thing that changes, and even then, only in which provider it uses.

You might start with MegaWrench Router because it just works with no setup. Later, when your server grows and you want to manage costs or choose models, you can switch the AI node to your own provider. Your workflow doesn't change at all.

AI is a replaceable part of your workflow; your workflow never depends on it.
